Andrea Westcott Orthoptist Andrea graduated from Orthoptics in 1988 from La Trobe University/Lincoln Institute of Health Sciences. She feels privileged to have a profession she is so passionate about and that is personally rewarding for her. She is a member of Orthoptics Australia and diplomat of the Orthoptic Board of Australia now known as the Australian Orthoptic Board and has been since graduation.
Her areas of interest and expertise are in cataracts, glaucoma and disorders/ diseases of the retina. She is highly experienced in various techniques of Biometry, Corneal Mapping/Keratometry and Infra-ometry, Ultrasonography, Intra-Ocular Lens Calculations, Potential Visual Acuity and Retinal Photography – including Fluorescein Fundal Angiography.
She has also previously assisted ophthalmic surgeons in the operating theatres and is currently concentrating on assisting in procedures within our clinic. She co-ordinates the Intravitreal Injection Treatments Program for macular diseases. She has supervised and assisted orthoptic students, medical students and optometric students in their ophthalmic journeys.
Beyond work, Andrea married in 1998 and is the proud mother of two boys. She has grown up and still resides in the Bayside area
